Exit Counseling
Federal regulations require all federal student loan borrowers to complete an exit loan counseling session and personal reference form prior to graduation, or when the student's enrollment status drops below half-time. The purpose of the counseling session is to inform you of your rights and responsibilities. During the counseling session you will receive a detailed listing of your loans, information regarding repayment options, and helpful tips for managing your loan debt. You will also be required to complete a form listing your current address, next of kin, and two references.
There are four types of exit counseling, large group, small group, one-on-one counseling with a loan analyst, and on-line. To get the most out of your counseling session, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of the individual or group counseling.
