Renew Your Aid
To ensure that your financial aid award accurately reflects your family's financial circumstances, all students are required to reapply for financial aid each academic year.
Please DO NOT complete the FAFSA application until your 2012 return has been filed and you are able to successfully import your IRS data into the FAFSA application.
If you are a domestic student and receive need-based financial aid from Duke, you must complete the following application requirements:
- Complete the CSS PROFILE
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Send your tax documentation to the College Board Institutional Documentation Services (IDOC)
If you don't receive need-based scholarships from Duke, but are interested in Duke Work Study and/or federal financial aid (including Pell Grants, all federal loans, and Federal Work Study), you must complete the following application requirements:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- If you receive notice that you've been selected for Federal Verification, we will send you additional information regarding what documentation you will need to send to our office
Tracking Your Financial Aid Application Progress
You can track the progress of your financial aid application via your ACES To-Do List. All financial aid application tasks are listed there, and their status is automatically updated daily. When tracking the progress of your FAFSA, CSS PROFILE, and IDOC, however, please allow 10 business days for your ACES To-Do List to be updated. These components of the application are sent to Duke from other agencies, and may take several days to reach us depending on the season.
