2012 Tax Returns & W2 Forms |
May 1, 2013 May 15, 2013 |
Once you have filed your Profile Form, you will receive a letter from the College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) providing instructions on how to submit your tax forms and any other supplemental forms required. You should send signed photocopies of all pages of your parents’ and your own 2012 federal tax return including photocopies of all W-2 forms to IDOC. If your parents own a business, then their business tax schedules and tax returns (Schedule K-1, Forms 1120, 1120S, and/or 1065) should be included in your IDOC submission. If your parents did not file a US return, we require copies of the foreign return filed. If your parents did not file ANY tax return, download the Non-Tax Filer Statement from our forms page and include it with your IDOC submission. Please Note: Only one package of documents may be submitted to the IDOC service, so please do not submit your package until all your documents have been compiled. If we request additional information based on the review of your aid application, please send these additional documents directly to the Duke Financial Aid Office. Do not send additional documents to IDOC after mailing your original package. |

This e-mail will provide details about the requirement and should be shared with your noncustodial parent. The e-mail will contain a link to the Noncustodial Profile website as well as login instructions for your noncustodial parent. |

Additional Information |
May 1, 2013 |
If your family has special circumstances or unusual expenses, or if there are any other details which will help us more completely understand your financial situation, please make sure we know. |
| Profile Corrections | No Date | Since we verify all financial information with the financial documentation you provide to IDOC, you do not need to submit Profile corrections regarding financial information. If you need to correct other information, such as family size or number of children in college, you can email us this information and we'll correct it for you. |
Please DO NOT complete the FAFSA application until your 2012 return has been filed and you are able to successfully import your IRS data into the FAFSA application. If you have foreign income, an amended tax return, or are married filing separately, you may complete the FAFSA at anytime but will not be able to use the data retrieval tool.
