Aid for Global Education

In order to make Global Education programs accessible to all of our students - regardless of their financial circumstances - Duke has established robust financial aid programs to support our students' global academic endeavors.  Duke guarantees to meet 100% of demonstrated need for any Duke-administered abroad program or Duke-approved abroad program through another institution. 

This means we consider the cost of attendance for your program:

• Tuition & fees
• Housing
• Meals
• Books & supplies
• Visas & vaccinations
• Airfare
• Other personal/miscellaneous expenses

We provide aid in the same manner regardless of whether it is at Duke or someplace else; regardless of whether your program is more or less expensive than Duke.  Further, your expected family contribution does not change when you study abroad. 

So whether you're studying on-campus at Duke, at our Marine Lab, through a Duke-in program, or through a Duke-approved program, the total cost to your family will always be the same.
